Sunday got off to a nice slow start, with a 10.00 AM service at the Anglican Church in Te Araroa. The presence of our team and the visiting work party from Auckland effectively doubled their normal attendance, but apparently there were a few other visitors as well . . .
Here's our team (less Jeff, who was visiting family in Christchurch) plus the Anglican ministers and a couple of other ladies.
Don Row had been asked by the minister to give the message. His key themes were that God has a plan for each of our lives from the time we are in our mother's womb, and from of the book of Jeremiah, where Jeremiah said "but God, I can't do that, I'm too young" (paraphrased). Don had recently been thinking "but God, I can't do that, I'm too old" (regarding this trip), and he shared with us that this part of Jeremiah was a strong personal challenge to him.
