Hinemaurea Marae is in the fabulously-remote location of Wharekahika (otherwise known as Hicks Bay), on New Zealand’s far east coast, and is ancestral home to the second largest of New Zealand’s Maori tribes.
We’ve come here from Brisbane, Australia, at the invitation of the local tribal elders.
